When overtaking cyclists – change your mindset, change the lane?
Katja Kircher is a research leader at the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI). Her main research topics are road user attention and cycling on rural roads, with the aim to make cyclists feel welcome on rural roads and to provide an accessible, attractive and connected network to them. One important aspect in this matter, that Katja has researched from different angles, is how cyclists are overtaken with motor vehicles, and how they should be overtaken. Outside of work, Katja has taken part in several ultracycling events and has therefore firsthand experience of cycling in various countries.
